Stamford-Hartford-New London, New Haven @ Epicenter
Welcome to our CT Triangle. Our because no one else seems to want to claim or christen this patently obvious geo-metry (geographic geometry) of Stamford-Hartford-New London, with major interstates 95 and 91 criss-crossing its Atlantic real estate, New York City to the South and Boston to the North both less than 2-hour drives. It’s the provocative triangle no one’s ever heard of. Not even - if you try searching “CT Triangle” - via Google . The well-worn arguments that fragment our would-be triangle – we’ll address them in the next post.
So, Stamford-Hartford-New London, with New Haven at the center only a 40-minute drive to each endpoint. It’s the self-drawn metropolitan area that, we’ve just decided, will be the epicenter of our launch for Ripple100.
Say what? Why fuss about locale when you’re web software with extra-terrestrial ability to market and deliver solutions via the cloud?
(pause for the profundity of the moment)
Because this sense of place is exactly what makes Ripple100 different from the rest of the web. We are social software and metro-centric media for word of mouth campaigns. Equal parts web utility and cultural movement. Cloud solutions you will touch, and will touch you back, at the local level.
You know, where you actually live. Where your social and life network – family, friends, neighbors, office mates, arch nemeses, etc. – also happen to live, eat, breathe, sleep. And spend money. More so than they ever have or will in Facebook, Twitter et al.
We’ll have plenty more to blog on “cloud software with a sense of place” (you can follow via our Metro100 thread). For now this post is about our newly minted CT Triangle.
Stamford-Hartford-New London is our first step to establishing Ripple100 in all the standard metros NYC, LA, Chicago, London, Paris, Mumbai, Tokyo, Shanghai, Sydney, Cairo…
The dye is cast. Our CT Triangle will forever be known as the birthplace of the first ripple, the one that spawned billions others. And changed the world, one metro at a time.
Very poetically written statement of intent!
